Science city - this city (apart the part of cities, towns) laid down special regulations of higher authorities to resolve national issues on creation of high-tech products for defense, or fundamental purpose, while the main part of the infrastructure of cities has been formed around scientific organizations and institutions, defined scientific or technical orientation of the production structure of the city. To date, more than 60 cities, urban-type settlements and separately located parts of cities with a total population of more than 3 million people can claim the status of a science city. Twenty-nine of them are located in the Moscow region, ten - in the Urals, thirteen - in Siberia.
